Field of Study and Work
Thomas Edison was an inventor in the fields of electrical and chemical engineering.
Edison's major contribution to his field of study was inventing the lightbulb. Thomas invented the lightbulb in 1879 as an electric lam where a filament is heated to incandescence. This means that the pieces of metal heat up enough for the filament to glow. He invented the light bulb in order to reduce fires caused by oil lamps or fire places. This innovated light bulb would be safe for all human activity
